On the way out to the Firestone 550, we had an opportunity to speak with one of AJ Foyt Racing’s mechanics, Thomas Semik II. We wanted to know how he felt about the team’s success in Long Beach and Sao Paulo, and what tension was like in th…e pits. [Thomas on Long Beach & Sao Paulo]:  The tension in the pits was somewhat higher than normal, especially in Long Beach, where we came into the pits as the leader and all eyes were on the crew, fans, other teams and a worldwide TV audience. Just a little pressure for a perfect pitstop. As for the team in general, all we could do was watch Taku do his thing and hoped nothing silly would happen to the car. Brazil was exciting to watch, even though the outcome was not in our favor. It was a proud day for the team, to prove the Long Beach win was no fluke!
